Gift Ideas for awesome teachers….

School has almost finished for the year and if you are like me you are now panicking and running around like a headless chook trying to get your Christmas shopping done before the kids break up so you don’t ruin the surprise of Santa!  Why oh why do I leave things to the last minute!!?Every year I try to think of something unique and clever to give my kids teachers and end up leaving it to the last minute and either give cash to the class mum to sort out a present for me or give a really run of the mill present like chocolates. My son started a new school this year and his teacher has been amazing at making the transition and settling in process easy so I wanted to get her something thoughtful.Below are a few gifts I found on my search for something that little bit special, hopefully they will help you in your search for that special something. Easy Lunch Idea…Ham and Cheese Scrolls

Lunch again, what to have!?  I don’t fancy a boring sandwich as usual so today I am going to make Ham and Cheese Scrolls.  They are so easy, so yummy and the kids just love them. What you need: A Sheet of Puff Pastry Shredded Ham Shredded Cheese Knife to Cut Baking Tray How to: This is seriously so easy! Grab your sheet of puff pastry and sprinkle some ham and cheese onto it                   Roll the pastry from the bottom into a sausage like shape                   Now cut into 7 or 8 pieces                   Take each piece and lay it upwards on a baking tray                   Pop them into the oven at 200°c for around 15 minutes                   They don’t look the prettiest but they are certainly yummy straight out of the oven!  I pack these for my kids lunches as an alternative to a sandwich.  You can use vegemite instead of ham or just jam if you want sweet ones....

“Let it go, Let it go…”

“….I am one with the wind and sky” So it seems the Frozen themed party is still going strong, we have had 3 bookings in the last 3 days! Here are a few ideas, hints and tips when throwing a Frozen party. Invitations You can do all sorts of fun things for this theme.  How about handing out a wand or tiara with party details on or download ours for free here.         Styling  When Styling this party you can choose anything Aqua and the kids automatically think Frozen! I have seen aqua plastic plates available in the Reject Shop for $2 a pack. If you would like the characters featured on plates, cups and napkins Big W have a Frozen range which are around the $3 mark for a pack of 8 plates, cups etc. Snowflakes and silver baubles are a gorgeous addition to this party and why not collect a few tree branches from outside to pop in a vase to hang these from and voila you have a table centrepiece. For runners you can use wadding to create snow or how about scattering cotton wool balls as snowballs. Crafts We have done many Frozen parties and a favourite craft at all of them is Elsa’s Plait. What you need: Hair tie Wool Scissors Jewels and Ribbon for kids to decorate Instructions: Cut 20 strands of wool a meter long.  Lie the strand of wool out straight and pop a hair tie over one end.  Move the hair tie to the middle of the pile of wool and tie the wool in a knot to secure...

Top Tips for the Perfect Party

My Top 10 Party Hints and Tips.. Planning a party is stressful and takes up a lot of time!  I have jotted down my top 10 tips to a successful party to hopefully help you reduce the stress and have a fun filled fab party your child and friends will love. Party Tip 1 When you set a budget and theme it will make it easier to set a location. Party Tip 2 If you are planning on holding your party in a park make sure you contact the local council for approval.A permit is normally required if you would like a jumping castle Party Tip 3 Make sure you put a RSVP by date on your invite, this will make it easier for you to cater the party Party Tip 4 Keep party favours small and simple. How about a bubble wand as a non -lolly option Party Tip 5 Kids don’t actually eat that much at parties so don’t go overboard on the food. For something different serve in a lunch box. By serving in lunch boxes you will find most kids will eat everything in it Party Tip 6 Make sure you have people to help run games, serve the food, hand out party favours and keep an eye on the kids, it is almost impossible to host a party and run one at the same time. Thank you Sydney for your support

Lisa Hayes is the founder of All in All Parties Sydney and has just branched out to Geelong VIC. She has been nominated for the 2014 AusMumprenuer Awards and below shares her intimate interview on life, motherhood and All in All Parties….. Your website: www.allinallparties.com.au Tell us about you and your family? We are a happy family of five. I am Scottish, my husband a Kiwi and we have three kids Brandon (7), Poppy (3) and Asher (4 months). Tell us about your business? We specialize in unique children’s pop up parties saving parents time, reducing stress levels and creating a party with a wow factor. What was the inspiration for your business? My kids always wanted themed parties but there were never enough hours in the day to source and create what was needed. Why did you start a home-based business? Doing something in my own time, in my own hours and spending time with my kids were all things that I really wanted. What has been your greatest challenge & how have you overcome this? I have had a few challenges along the way and have had to overcome them, stay motivated and to push through. All in All Parties first started out as All in All Party Boxes, selling full party packs in a box which included all tableware, games, prizes and lolly bags. I worked on the idea for a year before realizing there wasn’t a huge market for this and therefore had to rethink my ideas. It was difficult not to be precious to the original concept and admit to myself that the appetite just wasn’t there as I had...
